p.s. I am also named Nina, own no car, actually 30 years old (!) and incredibly happy and learning more and more every day. I formerly advised first-generation undergrads receiving scholarship and unsure which route to take with their newly-minted degrees; I gave them much the same free-thinking advice as this column. Their passions for social justice combined with elite educations were too precious to be thrown down a corporate grunt toilet.
